Valletta

Valletta, the capital of Malta and 2018 capital of culture. This small city, in its entirety, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The history of Valletta jumps out at you around every corner from its stunning buildings, architecture and narrow cobbled streets that ooze age and sophistication.

The city is a fortified city surrounded by giant walls looking over the Grand Harbour. The harbour and Malta’s location mean Valletta has seen a lot of action over the years from the Knights of St John, Ottoman invasions and sieges and played a huge role in WWII with Malta being the only country rather than an individual to be awarded the George Cross for heroism and devotion of its people during WWII.
